Sports concussions commonly occur during contact sports, falls, or sudden impacts. Symptoms may include headache, dizziness, confusion, sensitivity to light, or balance issues and they don’t always appear immediately.
At Relevé Sports Medicine, concussions are carefully evaluated using evidence-based protocols, with personalized treatment plans focused on recovery, symptom resolution, and a safe return to play or daily activities.
A sports concussion is a brain injury caused by an impact that disrupts normal brain function. It can occur even without losing consciousness.
Symptoms may include headache, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, confusion, memory issues, fatigue, or sensitivity to light and noise.
Diagnosis is based on a detailed medical evaluation, symptom assessment, and neurological testing. Imaging is not always required unless serious injury is suspected.
Recovery time varies. Most athletes recover within a few weeks, but some may take longer depending on severity, age, and prior concussion history.
